TEHRAN – About 70 specialists and general practitioners have joined a national campaign launched by the health ministry to offer online services free of charge during the ongoing war to patients across the country.

The initiative titled ‘Tabib-e Iran’ (Iran’s physician) developed after the illegal U.S.-Israel war against the country. The campaign aims to minimize patients’ referrals to health centers, and help reduce burdens on the health system, IRNA reported.

Since the inauguration of the campaign, specialists and general practitioners have visited more than 400 patients on a daily basis.

“The documented field reports have shown that a total of 292 medical and relief centers, including hospitals, health centers, pharmacies, medical centers affiliated with the Red Crescent Society, as well as 48 ambulances and relief vehicles, have been damaged or destroyed during these attacks. Furthermore, these incidents have resulted in the martyrdom of 22 medical personnel and relief workers, and the injury of 113 others,” the Red Crescent Society has reported.

Out of 35 hospitals affected by war, 13 remain fully operational, five are partially operational, and seven have been evacuated due to safety concerns, the report added.
